Former Deputy Chief Minister and Sr. BJP Leader, KavinderGupta today said that massive developmental and beautification works are beingundertaken in Gandhi Nagar constituency for the benefit of people. Gupta saidthis while addressing the gathering after inaugurating several lanes and drainsin Ward No. 45, Digiana in Gandhi Nagar Constituency. The works for these lanes and drains wereundertaken by the Jammu Municipal Corporation at an estimated cost of 12 lacs.Kavinder said that these works will benefit a large number of people, addingthat by completion of these public importance works, long pending demand of thepeople has been fulfilled. He said that a massive program for beautification ofGandhi Nagar Constituency has also been launched under which various parks andgardens are being revitalized in the area for the people, besides several otherprojects are also being executed which are in various stages of development.
Accompanied by MLC Vikram Randhawa, Councillor Raj Rani,Vinay Gupta, Sat Pal Choudhary, Paramjit Singh Raina, Ritika Dhiman, ParajitSingh and prominent persons of the area, Gupta directed the concernedauthorities to complete it within stipulated time frame so that the localpeople are benefitted. Gupta Said the Work for up-gradation of Road from PoliceChowki to Preet Nagar and Baba Balak Nath Chowk to Rani Talab Ashram havealready been sanctioned and soon shall taken up for the execution. Gupta also interactedwith local people and took note of their problems and demands. Demands includesupply of adequate drinking water, cleanliness of Nallahs, blacktopping oninner roads, construction of lanes and drains and proper sewerage system. Guptagave on the spot directions to the concerned authorities of PHE department totake necessary steps for providing adequate supply of clean drinking water tothe people of the area. He also directed the concerned JMC authorities to startspecial cleanliness drive to remove the garbage from the nallah and otherareas. A team of senior officers of concerned departments, senior politicalleaders and prominent citizens also accompanied Gupta during his visit.
